Lincoln Fire and Rescue officials say lightning sparked a fire that caused $150,000 to a home near 34th and Yankee Hill Road Tuesday night. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the roof of the home was struck around 8:20 p.m.
She says the owners were home at the time and called 911. Lierman says the homeowner had a ladder placed to the opening of the attic area when they arrived. Crews then found the fire burning in the attic and used a water cannon to fight the flames.
She says the fire caused $100,000 in damage to the home and another $50,000 to the contents.
