At 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 2nd, Lincoln Police were flagged down in the area of the Railyard for a possible stabbing. At first officers were not able to locate a victim. They later learned that a 23 year old man had shown up at a hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen.
The victim stated that while walking near the Railyard, an unknown man approached him. The victim thought at first the man had punched him in the stomach but later realized he had been stabbed. The suspect took off running. The victim got a ride to a hospital from a friend. His injuries are not life threatening.
Lincoln Police searched the area for evidence and spoke with witnesses. They are also requesting video from the area. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
