Lincoln residents will have a chance to get rid of any unwanted legal or illegal guns this Saturday with no questions asked. Lincoln Police will be holding a Gun Amnesty Day from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in a parking lot on the north side of 5201 R Street.
“It is drive up, drop off, drive away with no questions asked,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas. She says guns should be transported in the trunk or back seat in an open box, bag or container.
“Hope LNK will also be on site handing out trigger locks and handgun lock boxes to the community while supplies last.” Gun attachments and ammunition will also be accepted.
