I have never understood this, if a man is dating a younger woman he is considered creepy. But if a woman dates a younger man, she is called a Cougar, which is NOT creepy. (Just to be up-front, my wife is 10 years younger than me, though she is 10 years older than me in maturity, so it balances out)
Sexism? Nah. It’s called Misandry (look that one up).
Despite all of that, 1/3 of society find dating someone younger is socially unacceptable.
Despite the social acceptance (or lack of acceptance) of dating a younger member of the opposite sex, someone decided to do a study and find out why Cougars like younger men. (Younger means someone 10 years their junior).
Acceptance:
- To no one’s surprise, 65% of men said it is ok, if an older woman is dating a younger man
- Funny enough, more women (70%) find it ok for an older guy to date an younger woman
- 60% of men would be open to dating someone younger
- 40% of women would date a younger man
So, if I am understanding, it is largely ok to date someone younger.
PLEASE, TELL ME MORE!
This is where the difference happens, WHY do women date younger men:
- Open minded
- Looks and attraction
- Lack of boundaries
And why do younger men choose older women:
- Maturity (emotional)
- Finances are better
- More success in their career
While more questions answer that concerns about having something in common, lack of attraction, friends not accepting their younger/older partner and social acceptance.
Sure, those are reasons as to WHY Cougars choose younger men, but let’s not skip of over the REAL reason: SEX!
Let’s not be full of bullshit. We all know it has to do with sex. Younger men have more stamina than us older dudes. (they can pop more than one time, with less “recharge” time, before they fall asleep) and older women’s libidos (in many cases) increases with age. So it just stands to reasons their older male choices can’t keep up.
Guys, tell me I am wrong here. (I did a study on this and found this was 100 % true. My sample size was 1 person…and that 1 person was me)
Sorry men, I am going to tell a secret, which isn’t a real secret from our youth, we want easy sexual conquests. When we are in a bar and the older woman (10 years or more, older) and the conversation goes well, many times, it ends up at his place or her place…the next day is the walk of shame.
But I can’t deny, those relationships can work. I have a friend who has been married to his wife for 20 years and she is 15 years older than he is. So, you can’t deny it can work, but truth be told, it started with sex
No stigma here from me, as I take great pride that my wife was in middle school when I was getting my first divorce.
