I am sure that you have gotten the calls where you are being told your Social Security number was suspended because it was being used by a criminal groups to run drugs. The IRS for not paying enough and the computer pop up that tells you to call a number to fix your computer, which has been infected (which it hasn’t been, BTW)
Of course, this happens more often to the elderly and it happens right here in Lincoln. (Our sister station, KLIN, reported on them)
- A woman lost $100,000 in a romance scam
- Another lost $110,000
- Then there is the elderly woman who lost $4000
And the list goes on, no matter where you are.
I have had countless calls like this and for some odd reason they want gift cards to Amazon or Steam. While I could go into how to fuck with these people and keep them on the phone for hours (no, I have no life), which can be a blast. But I have nothing on these guys, you gotta see this.
