It was all over the internet after it happened last night, Will Smith bitch-slapping Chris Rock over a comment about Will’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald head.
In case you weren’t aware, Jada is dealing alopecia which is an autoimmune disease that causes her to lose her hair.

While the slap happened on live TV and Will Smith was yelling at Chris Rock with a bunch of expletives, then Will apologized later. The interesting part was that Chris Rock really wasn’t phased. Truth is, Chris probably felt bad and said he wasn’t going to file charges against Will.
That is where the question comes in if this was staged.
First off, award shows have had fewer and fewer viewers in recent years, so the thought is that this was a set-up to make people talk about the Oscars…and the internet is definitely talking.
Second, Will Smith won an award, which gave him the opportunity to apologize.
But then, Dave Portnoy at Barstool Sports brought up that this wasn’t the first time that Chris Rock has singled out Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith at the Oscars.
You can decide, was this for real, or was it a setup?
Personally, I think this shit was real…and quite frankly, I wouldn’t have hit Chris, but I sure would have been yelling shit at him during the award show and probably cornered him after the show and chewed his ass, as well as jumping the Academy’s ass, among a number of other things. But in the end, there is no excuse to hit someone, unless it is in defense.
Chris’ has always been raw and had biting comedy, so you have to be ready for him. Real or not, Will looks like an asshole.
