Teaching your kids to drive is a right of passage that many parents undertake. It is rewarding when the kids “get it” and get their license. Until that happens, teaching them will scare the shit out of you.
Then there is this guy.
In Florida…ya…it’s Florida again:
Shaun Michaelson is a nice guy. He let a woman, who is a “friend”, let her and her 12 year-old stay with him for a bit. As with many 12 year-old kids, can be a bit convincing with their choices of words. Sometimes they can convince you to buy a video game. Get them pizza. Let them eat cake for breakfast.
This young lady, told her Mom’s friend, Shaun, that she wanted a “cool father”. So, Shaun told police “it would be cool” if he let the youngster sit behind the wheel and drive, so he would like a “cool Dad”.
The whole thing started as an illegal U-Turn, when the police began to follow the car, which reached speeds up to 85 mph. Eventually, the 12 year old pulled over, when the officer realized that the driver was the little girl.
“Cool Dad”, ya, he was taken to jail and charged with ” child neglect”, allowing an unauthorized person to drive. But wait, there’s more, he was busted for buying a vape pen for the kid as well.
