Lincoln police say five officers were needed to get a man into a cruiser Monday night after he resisted arrest, kicked an officer in the face and damaged a cruiser door. Officers had responded to a domestic assault call near North 12th and Judson streets shortly after 10 p.m. Oct. 19.
Police spokesperson Erika Thomas said officers located Robert Grove, 24, of Lincoln, who resisted and attempted to flee as they took him into custody. “He also repeatedly kicked a cruiser door causing damage. It took five officers to put him in the cruiser,” Thomas said during Wednesday’s police briefing.
Grove was taken to the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of second-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, resisting arrest and assault on an officer. He was also cited for criminal mischief.
Thomas said no one else was injured in the incident. Police did not provide additional details about the domestic assault or the weapon involved.
