UPDATED: County Engineer Announces Emergency Closure of Flooded Roads

These road that were previously closed are now open:

 W. Panama Rd. between SW 58th St. and SW 72nd St.

 W. Panama Rd. between SW 58th St. and SW 72nd St.

 S. 14th St. north of Saltillo Rd.

 SW 86th St. between W. Panama Rd. and W. Olive Creek Rd.

 Little Salt Rd. east and west of Highway 77
 SW 56th St. between W. Claire Ave. and Pioneers Blvd.
 W. Old Cheney Rd. between SW 56th St. and SW 84th St.
 SW 14th St. between Sprague Rd. and Stagecoach Rd.
 SW 29th St. between Sprague Rd. and Stagecoach Rd.

As of 5:00 pm Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman announced the additional closure of the following
roads due to concerns regarding flood conditions:
 Rock Creek Rd. between 134th St. and 141st St.
 Davey Rd. between 141st St.. and 162nd St.
 Branched Oak Rd. between 141st St. and 162nd St.

As of 2:00 pm Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman announced the additional closure of the following
roads due to flooding:
 Agnew Rd. between N. 134th and N. 112th St.
 Greenwood Rd. between N. 176th St. and 190th St.

The County Engineer has closed 4 additional roads since 8:00:

  • Intersection of NW 40th and Waverly Rd.

As of 8:00 am Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman has announced the additional closure of the following roads due to flooding:

 Ashland Rd. between 70th St. and 84th St.
 N. 84th St. between Ashland Rd. and Little Salt Rd.

The following locations were previously announced as closed:
 S. 38th St. south of Roca Rd. and north of Martell Rd.
 SW 2nd St., between Highway 33 and Sprague Rd.
 Intersection of Raymond Rd. and NW 1st St.
 SW 40th St. between A St. and O St.
 N 112th St. between Alvo Rd. and Highway 6
 Intersection of Waverly Rd. and 134th St.
 W. Agnew Rd. east of N. 14th St. to N. 27th St.
 W. Old Cheney Rd. between SW 56th St. and SW 84th SW 29th St. between Sprague Rd. and W. Stagecoach Rd.
 Raymond Rd. between N. 141st St. and N. 162nd St.
 SW 14th St. between Sprague Rd. and W. Stagecoach Rd.
 N. 162nd St. between Raymond Rd. and Greenwood Rd.
 N. 134th St. between Cannongate Rd. and Waverly Rd.
 Waverly Rd. between N. 141st St. and N. 112th St.

Drivers should keep in mind that flood water can obscure hazards including washed out roadway surfaces, damaged bridge
supports, and submerged debris. If you discover previously unreported flooding or have concerns about roadway structures, please
Turn Around, Don’t Drown, and then contact Lancaster County Engineering at 402-441-7681 to share information.

  • N. 162nd Street between Raymond and Greenwood roads.
  • N. 134th Street between Cannongate and Waverly roads.
  • Waverly Road between N. 141st and N. 112th streets.

Drivers are advised to not enter flooded roadways. Flood water moves quickly and at depths of less than 12 inches
has the ability to sweep people and vehicles from the road, and obscure hazards including washed out roadway
surfaces and debris. Remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

Lancaster County Engineering Department will continue to monitor county roads to determine safety and
maintenance needs.
