The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team took the floor for the first time in public view this fall Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Red squad swept the White squad, 27-25, 25-21, 25-19, but most of the Cornhuskers’ roster played for both white and red during the scrimmage.
In the first three sets, Skyler Pierce had nine kills and four digs, all for the red squad, while Virginia Adriano had eight kills and two blocks between the two squads. Bergen Reilly had 28 set assists, all for the red squad, while Campbell Flynn had 18 set assists and 10 digs for the white squad.
In the bonus fourth set, White beat Red, 25-17. Teraya Sigler had four kills and a block to lead the white squad in the fourth set while Andi Jackson had four kills and a block to lead the red.
The scrimmage was the lone opportunity to see the Huskers before the exhibition Spikes Under the Lights at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as Nebraska takes on No. 17 Florida in a best-of-three exhibition match on Thursday, Aug. 27.
