The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says its investigation into allegations of fraudulent signatures on petitions submitted to the Lancaster County Election Commission remains active. Investigators are also examining additional petitions gathered in Lancaster County in support of statewide ballot initiatives.
The investigation centers on allegations that fraudulent signatures were collected, notarized and submitted as part of the petition process. Sheriff Terry Wagner says investigators will follow the evidence and report their findings to the appropriate prosecuting agency for review.
“Our investigators will follow the evidence, report those findings to the prosecuting agency for review. We will continue to safeguard the integrity of this criminal investigation from attempts by any party, group, or affiliation to use them for political purposes.”
Wagner says the sheriff’s office will also work to protect the integrity of the criminal investigation from attempts by any party or political group to use the investigation for political purposes.
