A former Nebraska wrestler has been arrested by Douglas County Authorities.  AJ Ferrari, wanted in Lancaster County on multiple felony domestic violence charges, was arrested following a surveillance operation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group.

Investigators said they had been following up on tips over the past several days indicating 24-year-old Albert J. Ferrari was staying at a residence near Bennington.

Ferrari was wanted on a Lancaster County arrest warrant charging him with assault by strangulation or suffocation of a pregnant woman, third-degree domestic violence assault, and first-degree false imprisonment.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, investigators established surveillance at the residence on Friday morning. Around 10:42 a.m., they observed a woman leave the home and get into the driver’s seat of a pickup truck. A short time later, investigators said Ferrari crawled out of the garage and climbed into the truck’s rear passenger seat.

Investigators followed the vehicle in unmarked cars and alerted Douglas County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies, who conducted a felony traffic stop near 204th Street and Grand Avenue.

Ferrari was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Douglas County Department of Corrections on the Lancaster County warrant.

Authorities have not released additional information about the underlying Lancaster County investigation.
