The Nebraska Football program and adidas unveiled new uniforms for the 2026 season, the first substantial change to the Cornhuskers’ primary home and away uniforms since 2003.

The uniforms feature large stripes around the shoulders, a nod back to the 1970s uniforms. The number font is also tweaked, made to look like numbers on a steel anvil according to a release from the athletic department and adidas. The pants feature two thick stripes down either side, cut at an angle halfway up. Nebraska will still wear red jerseys with white pants at home and white jerseys with red pants on the road. The helmets, white with a thin red “N” on either side and a red facemask, are unchanged from years past.

For the first time since 1989, the Huskers won’t have a patch that says, “Nebraska Football/A Winning Tradition” on the shoulder. Nebraska added that patch after the centennial season of 1989, altered the patch significantly for the 1999 season, and then kept it on the left shoulder pad from then on. The words “A Winning Tradition” are printed on the inside collar of the jerseys.

The uniforms were unveiled at the Red Sea Rising event, a 7-on-7 high school tournament, at the Hawks Championship Center Saturday night.
