Shayla Rautenberg became the first prospect of the 2028 class to commit to Nebraska volleyball, announcing her decision via social media on Monday. Rautenberg, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker for Milford High School, is ranked among the top volleyball prospects in the nation. Her mother, Lisa, was a Cornhuskers volleyball legend, piling up 1,600 kills during her career while earning the 1995 national championship and induction into the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame.
Rautenberg has already made a name for herself at the high school level. Last year as a sophomore, she led MHS to a volleyball and basketball championship while running in the state track meet in the 1,600-meter relay.
