A one-of-a-kind event blending classic cars, tacos, live music, and astronomy is set for this Saturday. The Branched Oak Observatory’s annual “Cars n Stars and Tacos Too” event returns with activities happening both in Lincoln and at the observatory near Raymond.

Executive Director Matt Anderson says the “Cars” portion of the event runs from noon until four at the Sam’s Club North parking lot in Lincoln, with vehicle check-in beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Anderson says attendees can expect to see hot rods, custom builds, classic cars, and modern performance vehicles,  along with music from a live DJ and food from the Godfather’s Taco Truck.

The scene then shifts from cars to the cosmos at Branched Oak Observatory beginning at 8:00. Guests will have the chance to view the night sky through high-powered telescopes, take part in hands-on STEM activities for kids and enjoy food under the stars.

Anderson says the event reflects the observatory’s mission of combining family fun with science education and community engagement. Admission for the evening event is $10 for adults and $5 s for children ages five through fifteen.

All proceeds will support the observatory’s educational mission. Click here for car registration and event details.
