Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases: an unattended dog stolen outside of a local pharmacy; the other involving a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian in downtown.

The first case occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Walgreens near 27th and Vine Streets.

LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller said the victim in this case arrived at the store with her dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named “Odie,” and tied him to the sign outside while she went in the store.

She was in the store for approximately 10 minutes, but exited to find her dog missing.

Keller said investigators reviewed video surveillance, but the camera too far away to derive any clear evidence.

Police believe the individual who took the dog was a black male wearing a darker colored top and lighter colored pants. There were no other cameras or witnesses who saw the crime. A photo of Odie is available below.

“We are asking the community to keep your eyes and ears open for this dog. We are hoping to reunite Odie with his owner, and we are in need of your help to do that,” Keller said.

The second case occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in downtown near 10th and “O” Streets.

Keller says a pedestrian received the “walk signal” and was crossing the street at the intersection when a vehicle hit her. The vehicle immediately fled the scene without stopping to help her. Some bystanders came to her aid.

The victim suffered a concussion and multiple bruises to the right side of her body. “But, thankfully, is okay and healing up at home,” Keller said.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a lighter colored sedan. Investigators cannot determine the exact make/model of the vehicle, but believe it could be a Volkswagen or Toyota.

Notably, the vehicle has some noticeable damage on the passenger side front door, and multiple bumper stickers, including what one witness described as a Christian “Ichthys” fish outline with the word “PEACE” inside the fish’s body.

Video and photo of the car, and an example of the fish sticker, are available below.
