LPD Issues Hundreds of Citations During March Enforcement Effort

Lincoln Police have released results of a traffic enforcement project that was conducted during the month of March.  Additional officers worked overtime hours to to focus on traffic safety.  The project was funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.

LPD says 270 traffic stops were made and 325 citations issued along with 49 warnings.  There were 160 drivers ticketed for speeding and 72 citations issued for no registration.  Officers also cited 34 people for not wearing seat belts and issued 17 citations for no insurance.

There were also four warrant arrests made.
