Lincoln Police Searching for Downtown Bar Vandal, Skateboard Wielding Assailant

By Chase Porter Oct 16, 2024 | 11:21 AM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who vandalized a downtown bar, and another man separately accused of assaulting someone outside the same bar and cause the victim to experience a medical emergency.

The first case occurred around 12:30 a.m. on September 15, 2024, at Sandy’s Bar on 14th and “O” Street.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says bar staff reported an individual kicking the building outside, punching out a glass window, then fleeing on foot after being chased by the bar’s supervisor.

Video of the incident and pictures of the man are available below.

The second case occurred outside the same bar, Sandy’s, but nearly a month later on October 9, 2024.

An argument between two men quickly turned into a very serious physical assault that Wednesday night.

One of the men, holding a skateboard, slammed the victim into the ground and then struck him in the head with the board.

The victim was able to make it home, but began to experience a seizure on his couch.

Keller says, thankfully, the victim’s roommate was home and able to call 9-1-1, in which Lincoln Fire and Rescue was able to get him to the hospital where he received care. The victim received 6 staples in his head to close up a serious laceration.

The assailant is described as a white male who was wearing a dark colored and possibly plaid leather jacket with a design on the back. His skateboard was a longboard style skateboard, also with a design on the bottom as we are showing here this morning.

Blurred video of the incident, as well as pictures of the suspect, are available below. While the video is blurred, it does show the violent incident. Viewer discretion is advised.

If you have information on either of these cases, contact Lincoln Police at (402) 441-6000 to speak with an officer, or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600. An anonymous tip can be left online through lincolncrimestoppers.com
