A development partner for the downtown Lincoln Convention Center project has been selected.  Legends Project Development will work with the county and the Assemble Lincoln Committee on selecting a site.

Senior Vice President for Commercial Development Michael Delano Jr. says they have received four letters of interest from developers on four locations,  Canopy and ‘Q’ Street, 14th and ‘M’, 20th and ‘Q’ and 10th and ‘N’.

He says the next step is to issue a request for proposal to see if there is addition interest. “We believe there are more prospective developers and sites that are possibly out there and we want to make sure we give everyone a chance to respond.”

Delano says they hope to have a site selected and an architect hired sometime in late 2024.  Assemble Lincoln is a group of local, state and federal policymakers, business leaders and members of the Lincoln community.  “The positive momentum for Lincoln’s convention center will continue with the addition of Legends to this project, who has a proven track record of success when it comes to developing world-class events and venues,” says Sen. Eliot Bostar, chair of Assemble Lincoln.

Bostar says the new convention center would be owned by Lancaster County.  Click here for more details about Assemble Lincoln.
