A Lincoln woman escaped serious injury after her car was struck by a train near 5th and D Street around 9:30 Monday morning. Lincoln Fire and rescue Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the train was backing up at the time.
“The driver slid on the ice and across the tracks. The train put on the emergency brakes, but it did clip the front bumper of the car and caught it and drug it down the track a little ways.”
LFR transported the woman to the hospital with minor injuries.
