Lincoln residents are being urged to use caution when visiting parks and trails following flooding caused by Wednesday’s storms. The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department says standing water, mud, debris and water damage may create hazardous conditions.
Several locations are temporarily closed or impassable, including the large dog run at Roper East Park near 9th and Adams, where crews are repairing a fence. Underpasses along the Billy Wolff Trail near Antelope Creek and the Salt Creek Levee Trail near Salt Creek are impassable.
Parks officials say portions of Wilderness Park and the Bison Trail between the Salt Creek Levee Trail and Coddington Avenue are also affected. Holmes Lake Park has flooding on roadways and trails, while the dog run at Mahoney Park is flooded.
Residents are encouraged to avoid flooded areas and use caution when visiting other parks and trails until conditions improve.
