Nebraska casino gaming tax receipts declined slightly in August, while Lincoln and Lancaster County have each received nearly $1.6 million from WarHorse Casino gaming taxes so far this year.

Figures from the show the state’s five casinos generated about $5.5 million in gaming tax revenue in August, down 2.1% from approximately $5.62 million in July.

WarHorse Gaming Lincoln accounted for nearly $1.57 million of the August total, a 3.7% decline from approximately $1.63 million in July.

Under Nebraska’s gaming tax distribution formula, 12.5% of the tax collected from a casino goes to its host city and another 12.5% to the host county.

Through the first eight months of 2026, Lincoln has received approximately $1.59 million from WarHorse gaming taxes. Lancaster County has received the same amount, putting their combined share at approximately $3.18 million.

Statewide, Nebraska has collected just over $43 million in gaming taxes through August.

The largest portion of gaming tax revenue goes to Nebraska’s Property Tax Credit Cash Fund. The Racing and Gaming Commission’s August figures show approximately $3.85 million of the month’s $5.5 million statewide total was directed to that fund.

WarHorse Lincoln’s August gaming tax payment totaled $1,566,881.67. Of that amount, about $1.1 million went to the Property Tax Credit Cash Fund, while Lincoln and Lancaster County each received approximately $195,860.

The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission publishes monthly gaming tax reports for the state’s licensed casinos.

The additional distribution figures are directly supported by the Commission report: 70% of the gaming-tax distribution goes to the Property Tax Credit Cash Fund, while the host city and county each receive 12.5%; the State General Fund and Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund each receive 2.5%.
