Families can enjoy a day of affordable fun this weekend at the Lincoln Children’s Museum’s annual Red, White & Blue Bash. The event runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with admission reduced to just five dollars per person as part of the celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary. Museum members will be admitted free.

Visitors can explore all three floors of exhibits, enjoy special pop-up games, meet costumed characters, and take part in additional activities throughout the morning. Lincoln Children’s Museum CEO Tara Knuth says the event helps make educational play more accessible.

“At the Lincoln Children’s Museum, we believe every family deserves access to high-quality play and learning experiences,” Knuth says. “Offering a five-dollar admission day allows us to welcome more families through our doors, remove barriers to access, and celebrate the community that continues to support our mission.”

Families can also extend their day downtown by attending Downtown Lincoln Association’s Family Day, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon at P Street and Centennial Mall. The free event will feature more than 19 downtown vendors offering kid-friendly activities, art projects, games, and hands-on experiences.

Downtown Lincoln Association Vice President of Community Engagement Randy Hawthorne says Family Day is an opportunity to discover downtown Lincoln businesses while the kids have fun making art, musical instruments and playing games.
