Governor Pillen Announces Launch of Property Tax Hotline

By Tom Stanton Jun 24, 2026 | 8:38 AM

As Nebraska lawmakers continue searching for answers to the state’s property tax challenges, Governor Jim Pillen is turning to taxpayers for input. Pillen announced on Wednesday a new Property Tax Hotline that allows residents to report rising property valuations and increasing tax bills.

“Property taxes are so out of whack, you don’t even need to own property to feel the impact,” Pillen says. “Nebraskans have been calling on the Legislature to fix this problem for decades. It’s now time to work together and find the solution.”

State officials hope the feedback gathered through the hotline will help shape future property tax discussions. Residents can share their experiences by calling 402-471-9554 or by clicking here. “I appreciate Nebraskans who take the time to share their data and their stories,” Pillen says. “They need to have a voice in this critical discussion. We need to hear what they have to say.”
