Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams announced the hiring of a veteran assistant Monday, as 14-year UW-Oshkosh head coach Brad Fischer was hired as the newest assistant coach for the Cornhuskers.

Fischer led the Titans to 11 NCAA Division III tournaments including back-to-back Final Fours in 2025 and 2026. Fischer was 315-80 (.797), leading the Titans to 13 consecutive 20-win seasons, excluding the 2020-21 season that was abbreviated to just 11 total games (9-2) by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are very excited to add Brad Fischer to the Husker women’s basketball family,” Williams said in a release. “Brad’s successful head coaching experience at the collegiate level and reputation as an outstanding recruiter and developer will be the perfect addition to our program. We are so happy to welcome Brad and his wife Lisa to Lincoln.”

Fischer fills a new position on the NU staff, joining Tandem Mays, Jessica Keller, Julian Assibey and Taylor Edwards, along with graduate assistant Marissa Kastanek as assistants behind Williams.
