Lincoln residents will have more time this summer to safely dispose of hazardous household materials and pick up reusable products. HazToGo, Lincoln’s Household Hazardous Waste Center, and the adjacent GoodToGo Reuse Store have announced extended Wednesday hours through August.
Both facilities, located north of 48th and Superior, will now be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Regular hours also continue on Fridays and the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
HazToGo provides Lincoln and Lancaster County residents with a free, year-round, drive-through site for disposing of household hazardous waste. Accepted materials include pesticides, lawn and garden chemicals, cleaning products, paint thinners, automotive fluids, old gasoline, vape products and items containing mercury.
The GoodToGo Reuse Store offers free, gently used or unopened products for home, garden and automotive use that are still in good condition. Officials say about 3,500 households use HazToGo each year. During 2024 and 2025, the program diverted more than 131,000 pounds of hazardous waste from the Bluff Road Landfill.
