Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen is expecting a light turnout for Tuesday’s State Wide Primary Election. “I think we’ll be around 30 percent,” Wiltgen tells KLIN News. “That’s based off of interest that we’ve been seeing in early voting. Statewide primary elections typically just have a lower turnout.”
If you still have an early ballot at home Wiltgen says you can drop them off at one of the five secure drop boxes. They are located at the Election Commissioner’s Office and four Lincoln Public Library locations, Anderson, Eiseley, Gere and Walt.
Wiltgen says the drop boxes are emptied daily by two election officials of differing parties and monitored by video surveillance. Citizens can also vote early in person at the Election Commissioner’s Office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on May 8, 9:00 a.m. to noon on May 9 and 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 11.
