Lincoln residents will have a chance to see strength and teamwork take flight this weekend at one of the city’s most unique events. The Women in Aviation International Cornhusker Chapter is hosting its 3rd Annual Plane Pull this Saturday at Lincoln Airport.
Marketing Director Rachel Barth tells KLIN News teams of three will compete to pull an aircraft 90 feet across the tarmac. She says the teams are broken into three divisions, men’s, women’s and coed.
Barth says the event also raises awareness about careers in aviation and encouraging more women to enter the field. The event is expected to draw community members, local businesses, and aviation enthusiasts. The cost is $100 per team and the money goes to support the Women in Aviation International Cornhusker Chapter.
“This event is a fun and powerful way to bring the community together while highlighting the impact and opportunities within aviation,” event organizers say. “We’re excited to showcase the energy and support behind Women in Aviation here in Lincoln.”
