The Food Bank of Lincoln is urging anyone who received Great Value Cottage Cheese from its mobile food distributions and partner agency sites to discard it immediately due to a safety recall issued by the product’s manufacturer, Saputo Cheese USA Inc.
The recalled cottage cheese has the Universal Product Code 078742-11673 and should not be consumed as it may contain liquid dairy ingredients that were not fully pasteurized, according to a media announcement from Saputo.
Consuming products that are not fully pasteurized can pose a significant health risk. The recalled product was distributed at a number mobile food distribution sites and Food Bank partner agencies between Feb. 13 and Feb. 26.
