Lincoln Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty case after a woman’s Pit Bull was poisoned. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says the 62-year-old victim had a cat that got sick and died on February 12 and around the same time, the dog got sick and stopped eating.
“On February 14 she took the dog to the emergency vet where he died,” Thomas says. “That’s when the vet told her the dog was poisoned.” She says the investigation is ongoing and includes an individual known to the victim.
The victim believes her keys were stolen and the pet poisoned on February 10. No arrests have been made or citations issued at this time.
