Lincoln Police have released statistics that show a dramatic drop in burglaries in the City. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says a Safety By The Numbers Report shows a 26.5 percent decrease from 2024 to 2025
“Financial loss also dropped about 26 percent and the 21 percent clearance rate in 2025 is a 15-year high.” Thomas says affordable security technology is helping deter crime and provide quality evidence when it happens.
“Please purchase doorbell and home cameras if they are in your budget,” Thomas says. She also offered some burglary prevention tips. “Lock doors and windows, even when home, keep valuables out of sight, use motion lights, collect mail and packages when away and report suspicious activity.
