
City of Lincoln
High school seniors, college students, and youth ages 17 to 24 are invited by the the City to participate in this summer’s Mayor’s Youth Employment Program. The application deadline is 5 p.m. April 16. To apply, visit lincoln.ne.gov/YEP.
The program offers students job opportunities with City of Lincoln departments that include training, leadership development, and career assistance such as tuition support and/or reference from a supervisor. Participants will be paid $15 per hour at their place of agency employment and receive a $200 bonus for completing the internship.
Participating City departments include:
- Parks and Recreation: Interns will work at various recreation centers to assist with the summer day camps and day to day activities.
- Lincoln Transportation and Utilities: Communications website and social media interns will create engaging video and graphic content for use on LTU’s website, Facebook, Twitter, and City of Lincoln Instagram social media accounts.
- Watershed Management: Water quality interns will assist with dry weather and wet weather monitoring. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining remote monitoring equipment, collecting and processing water samples, and data entry/analysis.
- City Clerk: Senior office assistant clerk interns will assist with the day-to-day operations of the clerk’s office, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping. Providing excellent customer service to the public in person, over the phone, and through email. Assisting with special projects and research as assigned.
- City Communications: Interns will assist with delivering information about City government through news releases and public service announcements.
