Lincoln Police Searching for Downtown Vandal, Hit-and-Run Driver

By Chase Porter Mar 26, 2025 | 6:01 AM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves a vandalism incident at a downtown building, the other involving a neighborhood hit-and-run in southwest Lincoln.

The first case occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Sharp Building near 13th and ‘N’ Streets.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says video surveillance captured two individuals wandering through the building, when the individual wearing the denim jacket kicked an exterior glass door, causing it to shatter, on the way out the door.

The individual in the short-sleeved shirt was not involved in this act, but was filming the majority of the time they were seen on the cameras together messing around in this building.

Video and photos from the incident are available below.

The second case occurred around 2:35 p.m. on February 13, 2025, in the neighborhood just south of Southwest 30th and West ‘A’ Streets.

Home security video captured a truck hitting a vehicle parked in the street and then leaving the scene of the accident.

Keller says the truck, a late 90’s GMC Sierra or similar make/model, slid into the back of the victim’s vehicle at a decent speed causing damage to the back end of that vehicle.

Police are asking folks for help in identifying this truck or the driver. Keller says this make/model of truck is fairly unique and it has some rust above the passenger side rear wheel.

Video and pictures are available below.
