In an interview with KLIN News Thursday afternoon Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen said he plans to seek another term in 2026. Evnen was first elected in 2018 and won a second term after running unopposed in 2022.
Evnen tells KLIN News he wants to continue some of the initiatives they have already already created. “We want to continue to focus on election and election security and accuracy.” Evnen says he also wants to continue to focus on the role that the secretary of state plays in International trade.
“That’s a statutory responsibility of the secretary of state and it’s a way to add to the top line of the state’s economy, so that is something that is something that is very satisfying.” Evnen says he will be making a formal announcement in the near future.
