Nebraskans will be hitting the polls for the 2024 general election in 12 days, and Lincoln-Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen is reminding residents of important deadlines this week.

The last day to register to vote in person at the Election Commissioner’s Office will be this Friday, October 25th. Friday is also the final day for Lancaster County voters to request an early vote ballot be mailed to them for the General Election.

The Election Commissioner’s office will be open extended hours until 6:00 PM on Friday, October 25th, to accommodate these two deadlines.

Voters may still vote in-person or pick up an early vote ballot at the Election Commissioner’s office through Monday, November 4th. Agents may pick up an early vote ballot until 7:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th.

The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Extended office hours are listed below:

Friday, October 25th 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday, October 26th 8:00 AM to Noon
Monday, October 28th 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Wednesday, October 30th 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday, November 2nd 8:00 AM to Noon
Monday, November 4th 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Voters are reminded they will need to present a valid photo identification such as a Nebraska Driver’s License, State ID, or another valid photo identification, or complete a reasonable impediment certification before they will be issued a ballot. The ID must have the voter’s name and photo. It may be expired and does not need to include an address.
