Nebraska men’s basketball receives Big Ten slate

Nebraska men’s basketball received its 2024-25 conference schedule from the Big Ten Conference Thursday. The 20-game slate begins on the road at perennial power Michigan State Dec. 7, marking the eighth time the last nine years the Huskers begin conference play at home. Nebraska faces Indiana for its first home Big Ten game six days later.

When Nebraska returns to Big Ten play after New Year’s, the Huskers will host UCLA Jan. 4 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in the first visit by the Bruins to Lincoln for basketball since 1955-56, John Wooden’s eighth year in Westwood and nine years before UCLA won the first of its 10 national championships under Wooden. The Huskers also host Rutgers (Jan. 16), USC (Jan. 22) and Illinois (Jan. 30), while traveling to Iowa (Jan. 7), Purdue (Jan. 12), Maryland (Jan. 19) and Wisconsin (Jan. 26).

In February, NU hosts Ohio State on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9, Maryland (Feb. 13) and Michigan (Feb. 24). They’ll also head west to face Oregon (Feb. 2) and Washington (Feb. 5), then travel to Northwestern (Feb. 16) and Penn State (Feb. 19).

The Huskers begin March at PBA against Minnesota (March 1). After a trip to Ohio State March 4, Nebraska will end its regular season hosting Iowa March 9.

Husker fans will get their first look at the team during the Opening Night event at the Railyard Oct. 4, then after an exhibition game Oct. 27 against Grand Valley State, Nebraska will open its regular season Nov. 4 vs. Texas Rio Grande Valley
