Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying a pair of flatbed trailer thieves and a con artist skilled in legerdemain who swiped thousands of dollars in cash from a Lincoln bank teller.

The first case occurred on August 9, 2024, in the University Place neighborhood near 37th and Madison Avenue.

Lincoln Police say a resident in the area reported their H&H flatbed trailer was stolen sometime overnight. Two individuals could be seen on video surveillance arriving in a dark colored pickup, hauling the trailer over to the truck where they hooked it up, and drove off with it.

The trailer was described as an H&H branded flatbed trailer worth $2,000.

Example photos of the trailer and security video footage can be viewed below.

The second case occurred on August 12, 2024 at the US Bank branch on 70th and “O” Street.

A man entered the branch requesting a confusing transaction, and with quick hand movements, pocketed $2,300 from the teller during their interaction.

When security reviewed video of the incident, they realized the same suspect performed a similar sleight of hand trick in Englewood, Colorado just one day after this incident. The teller for the Lincoln transaction was interviewed and said the man was very talkative which struck her as suspicious.

Investigators believe this person may have just been passing through due to contact in Colorado the following day. They are asking any Lincoln residents who interacted with this man or have information about his time in Lincoln to come forward.

Video of the incident and high quality pictures may be viewed below.

If you have information on either of these cases, contact Lincoln Police at (402) 441-6000 to speak with an officer, or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600. An anonymous tip can be left online through lincolncrimestoppers.com
