Second Phase Of Lincoln Airport Expansion Nearing Completion

By Tom Stanton Mar 26, 2024 | 2:24 PM

It’s moving week at the Lincoln Airport. Director of Communications Rachel Barth tells KLIN News their administration offices are returning to the terminal.  For the past two two years the offices had to be relocated to another building in Industrial Park due to the airport’s expansion project.

“We’re up on the second floor and that also includes our new community/board room as well as a new viewing area for the public,” Barth says.  “So if you’re waiting for someone to either take off or land, that’s a great place to hang out and relax until they get here.”

Barth says the new community room can be rented for meetings and they can accommodate about 90 people.  She says the entire project should be completed by the end of May.  “I’m excited to be back in the airport to see the rest of our employees and to see passengers.”

Two new baggage carousels will  also be added.  It was last May when Phase one of construction wrapped up, which included adding two more gates for a total of six,  a full service restaurant and a frequent fliers lounge.
