United Airlines officials announced Thursday afternoon that is will end air service between Houston and Lincoln on May 23. United says they will continue to serve Lincoln from Denver and Chicago.
United says they also plan to add an additional flight between Lincoln and Denver this summer and between Lincoln and Chicago this fall. “We’re grateful to United Airlines for launching nonstop flights to Houston in September of 2022 and are pleased with the community’s support of the route with 85% of all seats flown between LNK and IAH occupied in 2023 and in November and December, loads were in the 90%-92% range,” Lincoln Airport Authority officials said in a statement.
“It’s disappointing to learn the airline has decided to discontinue the route, however we are very grateful United Airlines is dedicated to Lincoln by adding in additional flights to Denver and Chicago, which adds capacity to LNK as well as working towards bringing in larger aircraft for our community.”
