A BNSF loaded coal train is moving again after stalling out in south Lincoln for several hours.
The train was on it’s way to Nebraska City around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. KLIN’s Chris Lofgreen was on scene and confirmed 70th street between Pine Lake Road and Yankee Hill was blocked.
Traffic arms and lights were not operating. Lofgreen said it appeared the train was unable to make the upgrade and stalled out.
Lincoln Police confirmed on social media that Burlington Northern was tasked to address the issue, and encouraged drivers to seek alternative routes.
About 4 hours after its first reported stalling, at 9:09 a.m., LPD issued an update that the train was no longer blocking traffic and the situation has been resolved.
