The lawsuit to block abortion and gender-affirming care restrictions in Nebraska was given a new court date Monday. A Lancaster County District Court judge set a July 19 hearing date for arguments.
The ACLU of Nebraska filed the lawsuit on behalf of Planned Parenthood in late May seeking a temporary injunction to block LB574 from being enforced.
It bans abortions at 12 weeks while also banning gender-affirming care in Nebraska. The abortion ban went into effect immediately after Govenor Jim Pillen signed it into law. The gender-affirming care for minors portion of the bill takes effect Oct. 1.
