New High Rise Coming To Downtown Lincoln

A 23-story high rise building is being planned for the southern portion of the Gold’s Building, which is currently being demolished.  On Saturday’s Grow Lincoln program Mike Works with Rev Development told Robin and Dave the project is being called Gold’s South Tower.

“We are talking with a national retailer and several national, regional and local restaurants to be on the first floor,”  Works says.  “Above that, we’ve got planned 250-300 apartments.”

Works says on top of that they are planning a boutique high end hotel that will be full service.  “We would have a roof top bar up there and roof top space for meetings, weddings, that sort of thing.”

Office space and luxury condos will also be included in the project. The six story original Gold’s Department store building on “O” Street will be salvaged and turned into a 104 room Hampton Inn.  He says they are also planning some outdoor activities along the 11th Street corridor that they plan to call the Gold’s District.
