Welcome to Wrexham

I will fully admit that I don’t know a damn thing about soccer. My BFF’s oldest son plays on two soccer teams on the east coast, so I’ve watched him play when I’ve visited. I can’t say watching my nephew play a few times has made any of the game stick with me. One of my bestie’s here is into soccer, but he had to get me drunk to get me to watch it. Let’s just say his soccer lessons didn’t stick with me.

You know what will get me to watch soccer? Or at least a documentary about buying a soccer (sorry, football) club? Ryan Reynolds. He and his bestie Rob McElhenny of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” fame bought a fledgling football club in Wales and now there’s a documentary about them on Hulu. The entire first season of Wrexham AFC is out and a second season has been confirmed.

Ryan and Rob have become so beloved in the town of Wrexham that Rob got serenaded in a pub, and was moved to tears.

But even better, is the stupid shit Ryan and Rob do to promote the team (and themselves) like this:

Yup. I’ll absolutely get into soccer (sorry, football) for funny shit like this.
