Miami has swimsuit week is not as popular as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. I am not sure why, as every year this fashion show always has some odd…and revealing beachwear.
This year fashion designer Chanel Rivera showed off his latest creation…the Black Tape bikini.

This is nothing more than using black tape to cover the “naughty bits”, but you can use more of the tape to make designs on you body that no nylon, neoprene or cloth could do.
Now, I do want to point out that this shouldn’t be considered a “new” fashion, but rather elevating something that has been done before by (the late) Wendy O Williams. When she was in The Plasmatics, she had a tendency of letting it ALL hang out and she would use electrical to cover her nipples.
Wendy wasn’t alone, as she inspired other women to follow suit at her (and the band’s) shows.
I guess what’s old is new again
