A Lincoln woman is out $100,000 after falling for an internet romance scam.
Lincoln Police were called to investigate a fraud on Monday, April 25th. A family member of a 64 year old woman reported she befriended an unknown party on a social media app ten months ago.
During the course of the online relationship, the victim started sending money. The total sent to the unknown person totaled $100,000.
Family members became aware of this and called police. The investigation is ongoing and so far, no arrests.
