The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department will offer second booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine at two large-scale vaccination clinics at Pinnacle Bank Arena later this month. They will be held Tuesday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently approved a second Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 booster dose for people age 50 and older and those 12 and older with weakened immune systems.
“We’re really encouraging folks to take that opportunity to get protected against future variants of the virus, to protect themselves and our businesses and our economy, our the community and, of course, our hospitals,” Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird told LNK Today.
The health department is contacting vaccine recipients who fall within the current recommendations to schedule second booster dose appointments. Additional information is available here https://www.lincoln.ne.gov/News/2022/4/12a
