Lincoln Police responded to several incidents over the weekend starting late Friday night with a drive-by shooting.

LPD Captain Max Hubka told KLIN News officers responded the 1200 block of Dakota Street on reports of 5 to 6 gunshots heard in the area.  Responding officers found a house had been struck by 2 bullets which entered the home into a vacant room.  There were no injuries reports.

Hubka said forensic evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation continues.

Saturday evening around 10:45 pm officers responded to the 3100 block of King Ridge Boulevard on the report of an attempted robbery.  Hubka said an 18-year old male was walking from a residence to a parked vehicle when he was tackled by 2 suspects wearing masks.  The suspects hit the victim with what was believed to be a bat or a stick causing minor injures.

The suspects also searched the victim’s pockets for something of value but found nothing.  They fled the area in a car and the investigation continues.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, 2 homes in the 5000 block of Tipperary Trail were targeted by a ‘garage grabber’.  Hubka told KLIN News two home had cars parked in its garage but the garage doors were left open.

Surveillance video showed a suspect entered the garages around 3:30 pm and took items from them.  From one car a 38 caliber revolver was stolen and from the other cash was taken.  Hubka said forensic evidence was processed and police continue to search for the suspect.
